Homemade Hot Honey adds a sweet kick to both savory and sweet dishes. This simple recipe combines honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar. The honey provides sweetness, while the pepper flakes bring the heat. A touch of vinegar adds a subtle tang that balances the flavors.
This recipe takes just a few minutes to prepare. Gently warming the honey allows the pepper flakes to infuse their flavor without boiling the honey. You can also adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to create your preferred level of heat.
Hot Honey makes a versatile addition to your kitchen. Drizzle it over pizza, chicken, pork, biscuits, cornbread, or roasted vegetables. It also works beautifully with cheese and appetizers.
Hot Honey
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 Tbs red pepper flakes
- 1/2 Tbs apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Combine the honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally and do not let the honey boil.
- Remove from the heat. Strain the honey through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the red pepper flakes.

- Allow the honey to cool completely before sealing and storing at room temperature.
