This morning’s harvest wasn’t measured in pounds o This morning’s harvest wasn’t measured in pounds of blueberries.

It was measured in quiet moments and the chance to slow down for a little while.

Growing and gathering your own food has a way of reminding you that not everything needs to happen quickly. Some things are meant to be savored—the changing seasons, the early morning light, and the simple joy of filling a bowl one handful at a time.

These are the moments that make a homegrown life so rewarding. 🫐🌿

A few months ago, these were seeds. This morning, A few months ago, these were seeds.

This morning, I was filling my hands with ripe cherry tomatoes.

Gardening has a way of reminding me that growth takes time. Most days don’t look dramatic. It’s just watering, weeding, waiting, and showing up again tomorrow.

Then one day, you’re harvesting tomatoes.

What’s something you’ve been working on lately that’s finally starting to pay off? 🍅🌿

Well, the experiment was only a partial success. 🍞 Well, the experiment was only a partial success. 🍞

The loaf got more rise than my previous gluten-free breads, but as you can see, it collapsed in the center. My guess is that I encouraged more lift but didn’t quite build enough structure to support it.

That’s the thing about recipe development—every loaf teaches you something.

The good news? I’ve already made a few tweaks and another loaf is in the bread machine right now. 🤞

For those of you who bake, what’s the recipe that took you the most attempts to get right?

If you’ve baked gluten-free before, you know one of the biggest challenges is getting a loaf that’s light and fluffy instead of dense and heavy.

I’m trying a different method today to encourage a better rise and improve the texture. No idea yet if it’ll be a success or a complete flop, but that’s part of the fun of recipe development.

Sometimes the best recipes come from being willing to try something new and see what happens.

For those of you who bake, what’s one recipe you’ve spent the most time trying to perfect?

One of my favorite things about growing food is that the harvest doesn’t always have to be big to be meaningful. Sometimes it’s just enough to add something fresh to dinner and remind me why I spend so much time out here.

A little bit harvested almost every day adds up to a lot over a season.

What’s growing well in your garden right now? 🌿🍅🌶️

It’s funny how something so ordinary can feel like such a gift. Months ago, these were tiny plants. Now they’re filling the vines faster than I can pick them.

I think that’s one reason I love gardening so much. It reminds me that most good things in life don’t happen overnight. They grow little by little, often when we’re not paying attention.

What are you growing in your life right now that hasn’t reached harvest yet? 🍅🌿

I don’t know about you, but I always seem to notic I don’t know about you, but I always seem to notice the sky more after a good day.

Today was full of garden chores, a little harvesting, and time spent outside. Nothing fancy, just the kind of day that leaves you tired in the best way.

Then this sky showed up this evening and felt like the perfect way to end it.

What was the best part of your day?

They’re undeniably cute… right up until they decide your garden bed is an all-you-can-eat buffet.

This one was just passing through (as far as I know), but every gardener knows that seeing a rabbit can bring mixed emotions.

Are rabbits welcome in your garden?
