Honey Sesame Chicken

Honey Sesame Chicken is an easy dinner with sweet, savory, and slightly spicy flavors. It comes together quickly and uses simple ingredients. The chicken gets a light coating of cornstarch before it hits the skillet. This creates a lightly crisp coating that helps the sauce cling to each piece.

The sauce combines honey, gluten-free soy sauce, garlic, green onion, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes. It takes only a few minutes to prepare. Sesame oil adds another layer of flavor as the chicken cooks. A large skillet or wok gives the chicken plenty of room to brown.

Once the chicken is golden, pour the sauce over it. Stir constantly as the sauce bubbles and begins to thicken. This recipe works well for a busy weeknight. It also makes a fun change from the usual chicken dinner.

Serve the Honey Sesame Chicken over rice with steamed broccoli. You can also add your favorite vegetables or toppings. I used gluten-free soy sauce to keep this recipe gluten-free. Always check the labels on packaged ingredients if you need a gluten-free meal.

This recipe also makes a great option when you want something that feels a little more special. The ingredients stay simple, but the finished dish feels restaurant-inspired.
