Grandma’s Mashed Potatoes

Grandma’s Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds russet potatoes peeled and diced
  • 2 sticks butter room temperature
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Wash and cut the potatoes into 1 inch pieces. Add to a pot, cover with water, and generously salt the water.
  • Bring to a boil and let cook for about 15-20 minutes until fork tender.
  • Once the potatoes are tender, drain and put them in a bowl.
  • Add butter to the potatoes. Use a hand mixer to mix the butter into the potatoes. This will mash the potatoes and make them smooth.
  • Use the mixer to mix in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  • Taste the potatoes and add additional salt and pepper if needed.
  • Spoon potatoes into a dish and garnish with parsley if desired.
  • Serve.
