This garden bed is starting to come into its own, This garden bed is starting to come into its own, and the blue-black salvia is really stealing the show right now. 💙

It’s one of those plants that quietly does its job—bringing color, drawing in the pollinators, and making the whole space feel a little more alive. I find myself slowing down when I walk past it, just to take it in for a minute.

Sometimes it’s the steady, dependable plants that end up being your favorites.

Do you have a plant in your garden that always seems to show up strong year after year?

Do your irises bloom all at once, or do they take turns showing off?

It always feels like a little celebration when that first bloom shows up—like the garden is quietly announcing that the season is changing. I look forward to these every single year.

Have your day lilies started blooming yet, or are you still waiting on that first flower?

Every year, I find myself watching and waiting for Every year, I find myself watching and waiting for this one.

The flame lily takes its time, growing quietly until the day it finally blooms—and when it does, it always feels a little special. Like the garden is reminding me that good things are worth the wait.

It’s become one of those small traditions… stepping outside, spotting that first bloom, and taking a moment to enjoy it.

Is there a flower in your yard that you look forward to seeing every single year?

The dewberries are finally ready to start harvesti The dewberries are finally ready to start harvesting.

I spotted the first ripe ones on the vine, and you know I had to stop and pick a few right then and there. There’s just something about that first handful of berries each season—it feels like a little reward for all the waiting.

Now the real question is what to make first… jam, cobbler, or just enjoy them fresh by the handful.

Tell me:
What’s the first thing you like to make when berry season starts?
