Beach Day

This summer we wanted to go spend a day at the beach. After reading Southern Living’s recommendation of what to do in Bay St. Louis, MS, I had to go here and check it out for myself.

We left early and found ourselves at The Mockingbird Cafe for breakfast. It’s a fun little spot that had a delicious Chai Latte! They were very accommodating and made it easy for me to substitute gluten-free bread for my sandwich. Which was so yummy!

Afterward, we dashed across the Bay to the beach at Long Beach, Ms., and stopped to fill up our ice chest. It was just a quiet spot, perfect for a toddler.

I had found this awesome beach umbrella online which anchors itself to the sand, it was a snap to put together and provided instant shade. You can check it out here. No one wants to burn at the beach!

I had also found this super cool beach blanket that stakes the corners to keep it secured from blowing away in the breeze. This was our home base.

Digging in the sand, walking in the water, and searching for sea shells was such a fun experience for my toddler. He enjoyed filling his bucket with water and sand over and over again. We even found some hermit crabs for him to explore. If you are looking for a peaceful beach retreat this is a great place to go. I had a wonderful day a the beach making memories with my family.

It was such an easy trip for us to take and we will definitely do it again! For more reflections from the heart, check out my post Make Memories. Where is your favorite vacation destination?
