With the Fourth of July almost here, it’s time to determine what to serve. Here’s a menu that’s easy to prepare so that you can spend time with your family and not in the kitchen.
Starter
The Watermelon Caprese Skewers make an ideal starter. They are a fresh summertime treat that will please any crowd. The watermelon can be balled the day before and assembled that morning. Make the balsamic glaze the day before and store it in the refrigerator. Before drizzling, make sure to allow it to come to room temperature. Here’s a link to the skewers on Amazon. Don’t forget to order early enough to receive them before the fourth.
Main Course
The main course has several recipes that can be made the day before. Mix the 5 Bean Salad recipe up the day before and store it in the refrigerator. For the best flavor, prepare the Garlicky Potato Salad the day before. Mix up the SETX BBQ Seasoning and store in an airtight container until ready to use. Make the Pepper Jelly Vinaigrette the day before and store it in the refrigerator. Allow it to return to room temperature before serving it with the summer salad. The BBQ Baked Chicken and the Summer Salad need to be made the day of.
Dessert
In the morning before guests arrive, make the Blueberry Peach Pie (Sunshine Pie). Remember that it needs time to cool completely before cutting into it. This recipe is not a deep dish pie.
There are so many different options for your Fourth of July menu! I know it’s important that you spend time with family and not in the kitchen, so I wanted to share a no-fuss menu with you. Making up so many of these recipes in advance, you’ll have plenty of time to visit with your company. I hope you enjoy this menu and celebrate the day with your family.
