How to Make Stovetop Bratwurst

If you are like me, you associate summer with grilling and lots of time outdoors. Have you ever planned to grill only to find that’s the day it decides to rain, making it impossible? I’ve had this happen more times than I can count. Thankfully my husband taught me how easy it is to cook bratwurst indoors. To learn more, follow the steps below.

Steps

  • Slice an onion.
  • Add a tablespoon of olive oil to a large skillet.
  • Place bratwurst in the skillet and brown on each side.
  • Add sliced onion to the skillet.
  • Pour 1 cup of apple juice into the skillet. Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
  • Simmer partially covered for about 8 minutes. Using your tongs push the onions down into the liquid and flip the bratwurst.
  • Remove the lid and continue simmering until the onions soften.
  • Turn off the heat and serve.
