Adjust the rack to about 6 inches from the broiler and heat.
Mix the olive oil and red pepper flakes together.
Toss the asparagus with the olive oil and red pepper flakes.
Salt and pepper the asparagus to taste.
Lay the asparagus on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Broil the asparagus, until they are tender and lightly browned, about ten minutes. Shake the pan occasionally during the cook time.
Remove from the oven and squeeze the lemon juice over the top. Shake the pan to toss the asparagus and lemon juice together.
Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.
Serve.
