Honey & Pear Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 8.5 oz gluten free puff pastry
  • 1 medium pear cut lengthwise into 1/8-inch thick slices
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbs water
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 Tbs butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the gluten-free puff pastry onto the parchment paper.
  • Arrange the pears in a single layer over the top of the pastry. Leave an inch border.
  • Beat together the egg and water. Brush the mixture over the top of the pastry and pears. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  • While the pastry is baking, mix together the melted butter, honey, and nutmeg until combined.
  • After the 15 minutes are up, pull the tart out of the oven and brush the top with the honey mixture. Be sure to reserve 2 tablespoons.
  • Return to oven and bake an additional 15 minutes more. Remove and brush the top with the reserved honey mixture.
  • Cool on the pan for 5-10 minutes.
  • Sift powdered sugar over the top.
  • Cut into 9 slices and serve.
