Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Tbs Shortening
  • Sprinkles and Nuts for garnish

Instructions

  • Line 2 baking sheets with wax paper.
  • In a microwave safe bowl heat the semi-sweet chocolate chips and shortening in 30 second increments stirring in between. Continue heating for 1 1/2 -2 minutes. When the chips are almost completely melted, use a spatula to stir the chocolate until smooth.
  • Hold the green stem or use a toothpick to dip each strawberry into the chocolate. Allow the excess chocolate to drip into the bowl. Then dip into garnish if desired.
  • Place the dipped strawberry onto the wax paper and allow to harden for 45 minutes.
  • Serve
