Baked Brie En Croute

Ingredients

  • 1 (8.5 oz)sheet gluten-free puff pastry Regular puff pastry can be substituted
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 (8 oz) wheel Brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup pepper jelly or preserves

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • Unroll the puff pastry. Use a 9-inch pie plate to cut the dough into a circle. Place the Brie in the center of the circle. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  • Wrap the pastry around the Brie, pleating the dough. Leave the center open.
  • Press the pleated edges up to form a wall.
  • Brush the outside with the egg wash.
  • Freeze for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 ℉. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and place on a wire rack.
  • Add the jelly or preserves to the center of the Brie.
  • Cool for 30 minutes and serve.
